This is my HID (high intensity discharge) lighting collection that I have collected over the years.

I have collected the lights from various places including various Habitat For Humanity restore locations , the Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse etc. The collection is mainly in my bedroom but I also have some fixtures at my cousins and grandparents homes that I technically have a connection to . HID is my favorite light source because I find the various styles of fixtures and bulbs to be more interesting than standard indoor household fixtures in my opinion . This is why I got into starting a small collection of HID lighting fixtures.

The collection is pretty diverse with various HID lighting types , which I will list below.

High Intensity Discharge light bulbs include High Pressure Sodium , Mercury Vapor and Metal Halide , these bulb sources were commonly used in Street Lighting and other outdoor lighting where bright light is needed , but are being phased out by LED lighting . HID bulbs use gas and various heavy metals i.e. mercury and sodium to make light.

This is the list of most of the HID light fixtures I currently have at home .
